Most business owners believe their site works on mobile. Most have never truly tested it. "It looks fine when I glance at it on my phone" is not the same as "it works for a customer trying to buy."
Why your own check isn't enough
You know where everything is. You tap the right spots automatically. You're logged in, your phone has your data saved, and you're on fast wifi. A first-time visitor has none of that. You are the worst person to test your own mobile experience.
What to actually check
- Can you read everything without pinching to zoom?
- Are buttons big enough to tap without hitting the wrong one?
- Do forms work, and does the keyboard behave?
- Does the menu open and close properly?
- Does checkout complete, start to finish?
- Does anything overflow off the side of the screen?
Test like a stranger
Use a phone that isn't yours if you can. Turn off wifi and use mobile data to feel the real speed. Go through your site as if you'd never seen it. The friction you feel is the friction costing you sales.
When it's worth outside help
If your site drives real revenue, an independent mobile-focused check on multiple devices removes the guesswork. That thoroughness is part of every audit we run — because more than half your customers are on a phone, and that's not the half to ignore.
